Julianna Margulies, Jim Parsons, et al. Win 2011 Emmy Awards

The 63rd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards were held on Sunday, September 18 in Los Angeles and broadcast live on FOX. The ceremony was hosted by Jane Lynch.

This year’s series winners included The Amazing Race, The Daily Show With Jon Stewart, Downton Abbey, Mad Men, and Modern Family.


Acting winners included Julie Bowen (Modern Family), Ty Burrell (Modern Family), Kyle Chandler (riday Night Lights), Peter Dinklage (Game of Thrones), Julianna Margulies (The Good Wife), Margo Martindale (Justified), Melissa McCarthy (), Jim Parsons (The Big Bang Theory), Guy Pearce (Mildred Pierce), Barry Pepper (The Kennedys), Maggie Smith (Downton Abbey), and Kate Winslet (Mildred Pierce).


Directing winners included Martin Scorsese (Boardwalk Empire), Don Roy King (Saturday Night Live), Michael Alan Spiller (Modern Family), and Brian Percival (Downton Abbey).

Presenters included Loretta Devine, Paul McCrane, Gwyneth Paltrow, all of whom received 2011 Emmy Awards for their work as Outstanding Guest Star, as well as Adrian Grenier, Kevin Dillon, Jeremy Piven, Charlie Sheen, Ricky Gervais, Jimmy Fallon, Hugh Laurie, Drew Barrymore,, David Boreanaz, Katie Holmes, Annie Ilonzeh, Minka Kelly, Jimmy Kimmel, William H. Macy, Maria Bello, Anna Paquin, David Spade, Rachael Taylor, Anna Torv, Scott Caan, Bryan Cranston, Claire Danes, Jason O’Mara, Kerry Washington, Don Cheadle, Kaley Cuoco, Rob Lowe, Lea Michele, Ian Somerhalder, Will Arnett, Zooey Deschanel, Ashton Kutcher, Amy Poehler, and Sofia Vergara.

Musical performers included John Stamos, Maya Rudokph, Ed Helms, Michael Bolton, Andy Samberg and The Lonely Island, LL Cool J, The Canadian Tenors, and the Emmytones (Zachary Levi, Colby Smulders, Kate Flannery, Taraji P. Henson, Wilmer Valderama, and Joel McHale).
