Jessica Burrows to Star in When Garbo Talks! Musical

Jessica Burrows will play Greta Garbo in the world premiere musical When Garbo Talks!, to be presented by International City Theatre in the Long Beach Performing Arts Center, October 12-November 17, with an opening on October 15. Jules Aaron will direct.

Featuring book and lyrics by the late Buddy Kaye and music by the late Mort Garson, this bio-musical about the Hollywood legend features additional material from Kaye’s son, Richard D. Kaye.

The cast will also include Michael Stone Forrest as Swedish film director Mauritz Stiller; Matthew Henerson as MGM studio mogul Louis B. Mayer; Christopher Carothers as silent film star John Gilbert; Alexandra Ackerman as Swedish acting coach Signe Enwall; Teya Patt as Mayer’s longtime assistant, Ida Koverman; Nick Rogers as MGM exec Eddie Mannix; and Scott Kruse in a variety of roles.

The creative team will include Brent Crayon (musical director), Kay Cole (choreographer), Stephen Gifford (set designer), Debra Garcia Lockwood (lighting designer), Kim DeShazo (costume designer), and Paul Fabre (sound designer).
