Lythgoe Family Productions has announced partical casting for its panto version of Cinderella to run November 27 – December 19 at the El Portal Theatre. Bonnie Lythgoe will direct the production, which will have choreography by Mark Ballas.

In retelling the classic fairy tale, the production will use modern music, including Kelly Clarkson’s “Breakaway,” Michael Buble’s “Just Haven’t Met You Yet,” and Jennifer Lopez’ “Let’s Get Loud.” In addition, the piece will feature magical effects created by Ed Alonzo.

The company will feature Freddie Stroma (Prince Charming), Jerry Mathers (Cinderella’s Father), Jennifer Leigh Warren (The Fairy Godmother), Benny Harris (Buttons), Eddie Driscoll (Evil Stepsister Cowel), and Mark Edgar Stephens (Evil Stepsister Seecrest).

For the title role, producers and celebrity judges Kara Dioguardi, Mary Murphy, and Michael Johns have seen over 700 performers and have selected a final 30. On Tuesday, October 5, another panel of judges, including Emmy Award winner Neil Patrick Harris, will make the final decision as to which actress will play the iconic part.
