Ed Asner, Frances Conroy, James Denton, Anthony LaPaglia et al. Set for All-Star Superman Animated Movie

Desperate Housewives star and theater veteran James Denton will voice the title role in an animated film adaptation of All-Star Superman, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Sam Liu will direct the film, which is due to be released in the spring.

Adapted from the Eisner Award-winning comic book mini-series by Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely, the storyline focuses on a Superman who has become oversaturated by radiation, and must face his own mortality and try to ensure the safety of earth after he is gone. It will be an original PG-13 movie by Warner Premiere, DC Entertainment, Warner Bros. Animation and Warner Home Video.

The voice cast will also include Anthony LaPaglia (Lex Luthor), Christina Hendricks (Lois Lane), Ed Asner (Perry White), Frances Conroy (Ma Kent), as well as Linda Cardellini, Arnold Vosloo and Matthew Gray Gubler.
