Covina Center for the Performing Arts (CCPA) has announced the production schedule for its 2009 season, which will include six mainstage productions and a number of special events.

The season will open with the Los Angeles premiere of The Light in the Piazza, January 23-February 15, the story of an American tourist in Tuscany who falls in love with a handsome Florentine. Neil Simon’s Barefoot in the Park, March 6-April 5, will follow with the story of a newlywed couple, their 6 floor walkup apartment with a leaky skylight and an eccentric neighbor, in-laws, jobs, misunderstandings, and the beginnings of love. CCPA will present a selection from the Festival of New American Musicals, May 7-10, which will be announced early 2009.

The summer will see a Broadway musical, June 26-August 9, to be announced at a later date.
