Cast and Creative Team Announced for Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike at Berkeley Rep

The Tony Award-winning comedy, soon to close on Broadway, heads to the West Coast this fall.

Berkeley Repertory Theatre‘s previously announced production of Christopher Durang’s Tony Award-winning comedy, Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, has announced the full cast and creative team that will kick off the company’s 46th season.

Directed by Richard E.T. White, the play is set to begin performances on September 20 in advance of a September 25 opening and will run through October 20 at the Roda Theatre. The cast will feature an ensemble of six Bay Area performers, including Anthony Fusco (Clybourne Park) as Vanya, Lorri Holt (Finn in the Underworld at Berkeley Rep) as Masha, Mark Junek (The Performers) as Spike, Caroline Kaplan (The Silver Cord) as Nina, Sharon Lockwood (Culture Clash’s Zorro in Hell) as Sonia, and Heather Alicia Simms (Broadway’s Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom) as Cassandra.

The Berkeley Rep creative team includes scenic design by Kent Dorsey, costume design by Beaver Bauer, lighting design by Alexander V. Nichols, sound design by Michael Bodeen, and music by Rob Milburn.
