Steve Carrell, Will Ferrell to Star in Film Swear to God

Will Ferrell and Steve Carrell will star in the new comedy Swear to God, according to Deadline.com.

Ferrell will play a hedge fund manager who thinks he has seen God in the film, which is being rewritten and directed by Tropic Thunder scribe Justin Theroux. The original script was written by Alan Cohen and Alan Freedland. The film is produced by Adam McKay, Ferrel, and Chris Henchy for Gary Sanchez.

Ferrell starred on Broadway in You're Welcome America. A Final Evening With George W Bush, which received a Tony nomination for Best Special Theatrical Event. His many films include Land of the Lost, Elf, and Anchorman, and he is well known for his work on NBC's Saturday Night Live. Theroux has been seen on stage in The Three Sisters and Shopping and F**king, among others.
