Jack Ryan Film, Starring Chris Pine and Keira Knightley, to Receive Christmas 2013 Release

The Paramount blockbuster film, Jack Ryan, is now scheduled for a December 25, 2013 release, according to Deadline.com.

Based on the popular character from the Tom Clancy novels, the movie is intended as the first in a trilogy. Stage and screen star Chris Pine will play the title character with Keira Knightley as his love interest. Kenneth Branagh is set to direct and appear in the film, which will also feature Kevin Costner.

Pine’s stage credits include The Lieutenant of Inishmore, Farragut North, and The Athiest. He is best known for his portrayal of Captain Kirk in the rebooted Star Trek franchise.

Knightley has been seen on the West End stage in The Children’s Hour and The Misanthrope and her many film credits include A Dangerous Method, Last Night, Never Let Me Go, Bend It Like Beckham, and The Pirates of the Caribbean film series.
