Neil Patrick Harris has picked up a third 2010 Emmy Award nomination — this one for hosting the 2009 Tony Awards — according to a report in the Gold Derby blog of the Los Angeles Times.

Award show hosts are currently included along with the producers in the category for Outstanding Special Class Program, for which the 2009 Tony Awards received a nomination. However, Harris was not initially listed among the nominees, reportedly as an administrative oversight.

Harris is also nominated this year for his supporting role of Barney Stimson on CBS’ How I Met Your Mother and for his guest appearance on Glee.

Harris recently directed the Hollywood Bowl concert staging of Rent, with stage acting credits including Assassins, Rent, and All My Sons. He is currently filming The Smurfs, and is also well known for his role as the title character in Doogie Howser, M.D. In addition, he will be producting Accomplice in London in the fall.
