Daniel Okulitch, Plácido Domingo, et al. to Be Heard in LA Opera September Broadcasts

LA Opera will offer a live broadcast of its productions of Daniel Catán’s Il Postino, starring Plácido Domingo, on Thursday, September 23 at 6pm on Classical KUSC 91.5 FM. In addition, the company’s production of Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro, which will be conducted by Domingo, will be broadcast live on the station on Sunday, September 26 at 2pm.
Duff Murphy and Kimberlea Daggy will host the broadcasts, which will also be heard live online streaming at www.kusc.org and will feature intermission interviews.
The company for Il Postino will also feature Mario Ruoppolo, Amanda Squitieri, and Beatrice Russo. Grant Gershon will conduct the performance. The company for The Marriage of Figaro will include Daniel Okulitch, Marlis Petersen, Bo Skovhus, Martina Serafin, and Renata Pokupi.
