Broadway and Glee star Lea Michele has released a statement through her press representatives following the death of her co-star and boyfriend Cory Monteith, according to People. Michele and Monteith had been dating for over a year.

Monteith died last weekend at the age of thirty-one due to a tragic accident caused by a mixture of drugs and alcohol. His body was found in his Vancouver hotel room. Earlier this year, Monteith had voluntarily checked into a month-long treatment program for substance abuse.

Michele’s statement, originally obtained by People, reads in part, “Lea is deeply grateful for all the love and support she’s received from family, friends, and fans. Since Cory’s passing, Lea has been grieving alongside his family and making appropriate arrangements with them…We continue to ask the media to respect the privacy of Lea and Cory’s family.”
