Smash Producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron Sign First-Look Deal With Universal Television

Craig Zadan and Neil Meron have signed a first-look deal with Universal Television and NBCUniversal International, which will allow the studio to have a first-look at series and specials the pair create for both domestic and international television markets.
The pair are currently among the executive producers of NBC’s Smash and are preparing a live TV version of The Sound of Music.
Among their many credits, Zadan and Meron produced the Broadway revivals of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying and Promises, Promises; the film versions of Chicago and Hairspray, and the upcoming television remake of Steel Magnolias.
