Ryan Murphy to Receive 2012 International Emmy Founders Award

Producer and writer Ryan Murphy has been named the 2012 recipient of the International Emmy Founders Award. It will be presented to him at the 40th International Emmy Awards Gala on Monday, November 19.

According to press notes, the award “recognizes an individual who crosses cultural boundaries to touch our common humanity.”

Murphy is the Golden Globe and Emmy Award-winning creator, writer and director of television shows Glee, American Horror Story, Nip/Tuck and Popular. His latest television show, The New Normal, will debut this fall.
