John Billingsley, Megan Goodchild, Shannon Holt Set for Boston Court’s The Government Inspector

The Theatre @ Boston Court and Furious Theatre Company are to present a world premiere adaptation by Oded Gross of Nikolai Gogol’s The Government Inspector, July 28-August 26 at the Main Stage at Boston Court Performing Arts Center. Stefan Novinksi will direct, with musical direction and arrangements by John Ballinge.

Featuring original songs by Gross, this new adaptation is re-imagined as a tragic farce with influences from Monty Python and Brazil. It tells the story of a penniless clerk who is mistaken for a Government Inspector by the corrupt, self-seeking officials of a small town in Tzarist Russia.

The cast will feature John Billingsley, Alan Brooks, Joe Fria, Megan Goodchild, Sara Hennessy, Shannon Holt, Adam Hunter, Dana Kelly, Jacob Sidney, and Eileen T’Kaye.

The design team will include Donna Marquet (set design), Steven Young (lighting design), John Ballinge (sound design), Tina Haatainen-Jones (costume design), and Robyn Taylor (prop design).
