Green Day frontman and Broadway veteran Billie Joe Armstrong will be a mentor on NBC's The Voice, according to published reports. He will be assisting on Christina Aguilera's team.

Armstrong played the role of St. Jimmy in the Broadway musical American Idiot, which is based upon the Green Day album of the same name and features a book co-authored by Armstrong and the musical's director, Michael Mayer. As previously reported, he will reprise his performance in the film adaptation of the musical, which is planned to premiere in 2013.

Also as previously announced, Green Day will soon be releasing a trilogy of albums. The CDs, entitled "Uno!" "Dos!", and "Tre," will be released, respectively, on September 25, November 13, and January 15.
