David Oyelowo to Join John Cusack, Matthew McConaughey in The Paperboy Movie

David Oyelowo will join John Cusack and Matthew McConaughey in the movie The Paperboy, according to a report on Deadline.com. Lee Daniels will direct the film.

Based on the novel by Pete Dexter, the film centers on a journalist (Oyelowo) who teams with another writer (McConaughey) to investigate a murder conviction for a death-row inmate (Cusack) in Florida.

In New York, Oyelowo starred in Classic Stage Company’s production of Prometheus Bound. In the U.K., he starred as Henry VI for the Royal Shakespeare Company. The actor’s film and television credits include Kenneth Branagh’s As You Like It and the ABC film version of Lorraine Hansberry’s A Raisin in the Sun, as well as Red Tails, The Last King of Scotland, and The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency, as well as the forthcoming The Help and Rise of the Apes.
