ABC has licensed its daytime dramas All My Children and One Life to Live to Prospect Park, in a multi-year, multi-platform deal that will enable the soaps’ stories to continue beyond their upcoming finale dates on ABC. As previously announced, the final episode of All My Children will be broadcast on ABC on Friday, September 23 and the last episode of One Life to Live is slated for airdate in January.

Through the agreement, Prospect Park will produce and deliver the programs to consumers via online formats and additional emerging platforms including internet enabled television sets. The arrangement also sets out terms stating that the programs will continue to be delivered in the same format and length. Additional details of the new productions will be forthcoming.

All My Children, which debuted on ABC in January 5, 1970, centers on the lives of the residents of fictional Pine Valley. Among the stage veterans who currently appear on the show are Susan Lucci, who has played the role of Erica Kane since the show’s inception, as well as Ricky Paull Goldin, Michael T. Knight, Cameron Mathison, Darnell Williams, and Jacob Young.

One Life to Live, which first aired on July 15, 1968, is set in the fictional town of Llanview. The show’s current cast includes numerous stage veterans, including Peter Bartlett, Patricia Elliott, Brian Kerwin, Ilene Kristen, Florencia Lozano, Robin Strasser, Tuc Watkins, and Bree Williamson.

There is no word which cast members will continue to appear on the shows.
