High School Musical: Get in the Picture, the new ABC reality show in which the winner will get a part in a music video to be shown at the end of High School Musical 3: Senior Year, the feature-film follow-up to the two popular Disney television movies that will be released on October 24, will begin its summer run on Sunday, July 20.

The television show, which will air through mid-September, will be hosted by singer Nick Lachey. In it, a variety of contestants will hone their singing and dancing skills, with one person to be named the winner. In addition to appearing in the video, the winner will record two singles for Walt Disney Records.

The film, directed by Kenny Ortega and scripted by Peter Barsocchini, will find high school seniors Troy and Gabriella (played by Zac Efron and Vanessa Anne Hudgens) “facing the prospect of being separated from one another as they head off in different directions to college. Joined by the rest of the Wildcats, they stage an elaborate spring musical reflecting their experiences, hopes and fears about their future.” The cast also includes Ashley Tisdale, Corbin Bleu, Lucas Grabeel, and Monique Coleman.
