Jeff Daniels, John Gallagher Jr., Alison Pill, Thiomas Sadoski, Sam Waterston, et al. Set for Aaron Sorkin’s HBO Pilot More As This Story Develops

Updated casting has been announced for HBO’s pilot of Aaron Sorkin’s new series, More As This Story Develops, according to Deadline.com

The show will center on a cable news anchor Will McCallister, to be played by Tony Award nominee Jeff Daniels.


Emily Mortimer will portray Mackenzie, the show’s executive producer; Alison Pill will play Maggie, an associate producer on the assignment desk; Olivia Munn, will play Sloan, a financial analyst at the network; Sam Waterston will play Will’s boss, Charles Skinner; Joh. Gallagher Jr. will play Jim, who works on Will’s show, where he develops a crush on Maggie; Josh Pence will play Rob, senior producer in charge, who has been in relationship with Maggie for five months and starts to become jealous of her budding romance with Jim; and Thomas Sadoski will play Will’s former executive producer.


Sorkin wrote the Broadway plays The Farnsworth Invention and A Few Good Men. He won the Academy Award for Best Screenplay for The Social Network.
His previous television series include The West Wing, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, and Sports Night.
