Stage veterans Alec Baldwin of 30 Rock and Jim Parsons of The Big Bang Theory are both nominated in the Best Actor in a Comedy Series category and Edie Falco, Patricia Heaton, and Martha Plimpton have all received nominations in the actress category for their work in Nurse Jackie, The Middle, and Raising Hope, respectively. The Best Actor nominees also include Steve Carell, Louis C.K., Charlie Day, and Joel McHale, and the Best Actress in a Comedy Series category is rounded out by Courtney Cox, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.
Other nominees for the Critics' Choice TV Award include stage veterans Ty Burrell, Alan Cumming, Neil Patrick Harris, Jane Krakowski, Jane Lynch, Margo Martindale, John Slattery, and Sofia Vergara.
