Calista Flockhart, Stacy Keach, Amy Madigan, Matthew Rhys, et al. Set for L.A. Theatre Works’ 2011-2012 Season

L.A. Theatre Works has announced the plays that will comprise its 2011-2012 season, along with preliminary casting for the year. The company’s performances will be recorded to air on L.A. Theatre Works’ syndicated radio theater series, which broadcasts weekly on public radio stations nationwide and can be streamed on demand at www.latw.org. The season will take place at UCLA’s James Bridges Theatre.

The season will begin with Henrik Ibsen’s A Doll House (September 22-25), translated by Rolf Fjelde and featuring Calista Flockhart and JoBeth Williams. Other offerings will include Itamar Moses’ Completeness (October 20-23), featuring Mandy Siegfried; Michael Frayn’s Copenhagen (November 17-20); and Sam Shepard’s Buried Child (December 8-11), with Amy Madigan.

In addition, Jean Smart and Patrick Breen are scheduled to appear in Geoffrey Nauffts’ Next Fall (January 19-22); Sarah Drew and Matthew Rhys will be featured in John Osborne’s Look Back in Anger (March 15-18); Stacy Keach will appear in Peter Morgan’s Frost/Nixon (April 19-22); and Martin Jarvis, Jan Ogilvy, and Joanne Whalley will appear in Terrence Rattigan’s The Browning Version (June 21-24). The company will also present Michael Hollinger’s Opus (May 17-20) and Eugene Ionesco’s Rhinoceros (July 19-22).
