The Book of Liz, Forever Plaid, Steel Magnolias and More Part of Costa Mesa Playhouse’s 2010-2011 Season

The Costa Mesa Playhouse has announced the schedule for its 2010-2011 season, which will open with Neil Simon’s The Odd Couple (August 6-29), to be directed by Michael Serna.

Also on the theater’s schedule is The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (October 15 – November 15), directed by David Anthony Blair; David & Amy Sedaris’ The Book of Liz (February 4-27), directed by Michael Dale Brown; Stuart Ross’ Forever Plaid (April 8 – May 8), directed by Stephen Hulsey; and Robert Harling’s Steel Magnolias (June 10 – July 3). The director for this last production, along with casting will be announced at a later date.

In addition to these productions, the theater will offer a special revue Broadway: The Best of Times, which will run June 25-27 this summer. The production will feature numbers from such classics as West Side Story and Guys and Dolls as well as selections from contemporary musicals like Hairspray and Spring Awakening.
