Stage and screen star Ilene Graff, actress Romi Dames, and musical director Ben Lanzarone were among the special guests at the fourth annual José Iturbi International Music Competition, which concluded with a voice competition on Friday, June 18 and a piano competition on Saturday, June 19. Both events took place at UCLA’s Schoenberg Hall.

Judges at the competition included David Pollack, Jorge Mester, Lalo Schifrin, Mark Swed, Ilana Vered, Matthew Epstein, David Daniels, Marilyn Horne, Peter Kazaras, and Carol Vaness. The collaborator/accompanist for the final round of competition was Martin Katz. Also on hand was Co-Founder and President Donelle Dadigan.

The competition includes two first place prizes of $10,000 in each category, which went to mezzo-soprano Sasha Cooke for vocals, and Stanislav Khristenko for piano.
