Philip Seymour Hoffman to Star in A Most Wanted Man Film

Philip Seymour Hoffman, currently playing Willy Loman in the Broadway revival of Arthur Miller’s Death of a Salesman, will star in the upcoming film adaptation of John Le Carre’s A Most Wanted Man, according to Deadline.com.

The thriller, to be directed by Anton Corbijn, is set in present-day Germany and revolves around a young man looking to recover his late father’s ill-gotten fortune. Hoffman will play the chief of a covert German spy unit.

Hoffman is currently Tony-nominated for his work in Salesman, and also received Tony nominations for Long Day’s Journey Into Night and True West. He is one of the founding members of LAByrinth Theater Company, where his credits include Jack Goes Boating and Othello, among others. He won an Academy Award for Capote, and received Oscar nominations for his performances in Doubt and Charlie Wilson’s War.
