FOX has announced its primetime slate for the 2011-2012 season, which include a number of new programs which feature theater veterans.

Kiefer Sutherland will star in Touch, as a widower and single father with a severely autistic 10-year-old son that possesses an unusual gift.

Jason O’Mara and Stephen Lang will star in Terra Nova, which follows an ordinary family on an extraordinary journey back in time to prehistoric Earth.

Tony Award winner Katie Finneran will star alongside Emmy winner Jaime Pressly in I Hate My Teenage Daughter, a comedy about two single moms struggling to raise their difficult and over-privileged teenage daughters.

Jason Butler Harner will appear in Alcatraz, a new thriller centered on America’s most infamous prison.

Playwright Liz Meriwether has created New Girl, to star Zooey Deschanel as an offbeat girl who — after a bad breakup — moves in with three single guys.

Additional new programming includes Simon Cowell’s new singing competition series The X Factor; the animated comedies Allen Gregory and Napoleon Dynamite; and the drama The Finder.
