Galway, King, Minnelli to Be Inducted Into Hollywood Bowl Hall of Fame

B.B. King, James Galway, and Liza Minnelli will be inducted into the Hollywood Bowl Hall of Fame during the Bowl’s 2008 Opening Night Concert, to be held at 8:30pm on Friday, June 20, which will benefit MusicMatters, the L.A. Philharmonic’s music education programs.

In addition to performances by the inductees, there will be a special performance by rock n’ roll pioneer Duane Eddy and a spectacular All-Star Rock and Roll Fireworks Finale. The L.A. Philharmonic will be conducted by Thomas Wilkins.

Minnelli won Tony Awards for Best Actress in a Musical for Flora the Red Menace and The Act, and won a special Tony Award in 1974. She was also nominated for The Rink and has starred on Broadway in Victor/Victoria and Chicago. She won the Academy Award for Cabaret and the Emmy Award for Liza With a “Z”.
