Colony Theatre Company Announces 2008-2009 Season

The Colony Theatre Company has announced its 2008-2009 season of shows, which will mark the eighth year at the company’s Burbank theatre.

The season will kick off with The voice of the Prairie (June 18-July 27), John Olive’s rendition of Davey Quinn, an early radio storyteller, with three actors playing more than 20 roles and David Rose directing. Comedy will follow in Educating Rita by Willy Russell, August 20-September 21, with the relationship between an alcoholic teacher and a street-wise student. Next will be the Los Angeles premiere of Mary’s Wedding, October 22-November 23, Stephen Massicotte’s play about young lovers who must surrender their fate to the uncertainties of their tumultuous times.

The new year will begin with George Bernard Shaw’s Candida, February 4-March 8, a classic story of of fidelity, honor and unspoken passion. The season will close with the Los Angeles premiere of No Way to Treat a Lady, April 15-May 17, Douglas J. Cohen’s musical thriller based on the William Goldman novel with the same name.
