The Rainbow Theatre Company’s currently running production of Why We Have a Body by Claire Chafee has been extended through May 6 at Edgemar Center for the Arts. Tanna Frederick directs.

In Why We Have a Body, Lili, a private eye who specializes in divorce cases, is having an affair with Renee, a married woman, who was, up until this point, a heterosexual.

Film star Karen Black is joining the cast as Eleanor from May 3-6, replacing Barbara Bain in the role. The cast also features Alexandra Sedrowski (Lili), and Cathy Arden (Renee).

The play features an original score by Edward Auslender performed by Kyle O’Donnell (saxophone), David Abrams (guitar), Trevor Steer (piano), Cooper Appelt (bass), and Robert Humphreys (drums and percussion).

The design team will include Joel Daavid (set and lighting design) and Edward Auslender (sound design).
