Julie Newmar Set for Pacific Rose Society Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Tony Award-winning stage and screen star, Julie Newmar, will officially open the Pacific Rose Society’s 75th annual rose show, held at the Los Angeles County Arboretum & Botanic Garden, with the traditional ribbon cutting on Saturday, April 28 at 1pm.

At the event, Newmar –along with PRS President Suzanne Horn — will present to Richard Shulhof, CEO of the Arboretum, a contribution to the Arboretum Tree Fund. This fund was recently established to help with the replanting of hundreds of rare trees that were lost in the horrific wind storm that ravaged the San Gabriel Valley in December of 2011.

Newmar won her Tony for her performance in The Marriage-Go-Round, with additional Broadway credits including Silk Stockings, L’il Abner, and Once There Was a Russian.Her numerous film and television credits include Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, My Living Doll, and the role of Catwoman in the live-action TV series, Batman. She has a love of gardening, andis a life member of the Pacific Rose Society.
