The L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center’s Lily Tomlin/Jane Wagner Cultural Arts Center is set to present Alec Mapa in his solo show Baby Daddy, June 1-2 at the Center’s Renberg Theatre.

Baby Daddy chronicles Mapa’s adventures after he and his husband adopted a 5-year old boy. He discusses going from stand-up gigs, red carpets, gay cruises, and circuit parties to being a responsible, car-pool-driving P.T.A. member.

On Broadway, Mapa starred in M. Butterfly. His solo show, I Remember Mapa won the LA Weekly Award for Best Solo Performance and has toured nationally.

Mapa has also guest starred on TV series, including Alias, Friends, and Seinfeld. His recurring roles include Vern on Desperate Housewives and Suzuki St. Pierre on Ugly Betty. In addition, Mapa was given network television’s first role as gay Asian series regular on the short-lived CBS sitcom Some of My Best Friends.
