Tracy Nicole Chapman, Anthony Manough, Nicholas Mongiardo-Cooper, et al. Set for Rubicon Theatre’s Lonesome Traveler

Rubicon Theatre Company has announced casting for James O’Neil’s Lonesome Traveler, to run April 13 – May 15. Writer O’Neil will direct the production, which will have musical direction and arrangements by Dan Wheetman.

The show is a tribute to American Folk Music and encompasses work from artists such as Pete Seeger, Woody Guthrie, Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, The Carter Family, Lead Belly, Cisco Houston, The Almanac Singers, The Weavers, The Kingston Trio, and Peter Paul & Mary, among others.

Among the songs that will be included in the piece are “Will the Circle Be Unbroken,” “This Land is Your Land,” “Deportee,” “Talkin’ Union,” “Goodnight Irene,” “Puff, the Magic Dragon,” “Mr. Tambourine Man,” “We Shall Overcome,” “Jamaica Farewell,” “Tzena, Tzena, Tzena” and “Maggie’s Farm.”

The company will include Tracy Nicole Chapman, Anthony Manough, Justine Bennett, Brendan (B. Willing) James, Sylvie Davidson, James Webb, Trevor Wheetman, Nicholas Mongiardo-Cooper, and Justin Flagg.

The creative team will include Tom Giamario (scenic and lighting design), Dave Mickey (multimedia design), Jonathan Burke (sound design), and Pamela Shaw (costume design).

As previously reported, Lonesome Traveler will also be part of the Laguna Playhouse’s 2011-2012 season, running January 10 -February 5.
