Meg Gillentine, Tom Hewitt, Lesli Margherita to Star in Reprise’s Kiss Me, Kate

Tom Hewitt, Lesli Margherita and Meg Gillentine will star in Reprise Theatre Company’s Kiss Me, Kate, to run May 10-22 at UCLA’s Freud Playhouse. Michael Michetti will direct the production, which will have choreography by Lee Martino and musical direction by Michael Paternostro. Additional casting will be announced shortly.

The show, with music and lyrics by Cole Porter and book by Samuel and Bella Spewack, looks at the backstage crises, professional and personal, that a theater troupe experiences during an out-of-town tryout for a production of The Taming of the Shrew

Hewitt will play Fred/Petruchio. Broadway credits include his Tony nominated turn in The Rocky Horror Show, as well as Chicago, Dracula: The Musical, The Boys from Syracuse, The Lion King, The School for Scandal, and The Sisters Rosenzweig.

Margherita will play Lili/Kate. She won an Olivier Award for her portrayal of Inez in Zorro. Her other stage credits include Monty Python’s Spamalot, Little Shop of Horrors,She Loves Me, as well as Damn Yankees and Zorba, at Reprise.

Gillentine will play Lois/Bianca. She was recently seen in Dangerous Beauty at Pasadena Playhouse. Her other stage credits include the first national tour of Fosse” and the Los Angeles company of The Producers, along with Damn Yankees and A Funny Things Happened on the Way to the Forum for Reprise.
