Plays by Tracy Letts, Neil LaBute, Lynn Nottage and More Part of 2010-2011 Season at Geffen Playhouse

Lynn Nottage’s Ruined will open The Geffen Playhouse‘s 2010-2011 season. Kate Whoriskey will direct the piece, co-produced with Intiman Theatre, to run September 7 – October 17.

The theater’s season will continue with Hershey Felder’s newest one-man musical biography: Hershey Felder in Maestro: The Art of Leonard Bernstein (November 2 – December 12), directed by Joel Zwick. Up next will be Neil LaBute’s The Break of Noon (January 25 – March 6). Jo Bonney will direct this piece which focuses on what happens after a man, who’s survived the worst office shooting in American history, sees the face of God.

The Geffen season will also include Jane Anderson’s The Escort: An Explicit Play for Discriminating People (March 29 – May 8). Lisa Peterson will direct this comedy about a high-class call girl. Rounding out the year will be Tracy Letts’ Superior Donuts (May 31 – July 10), directed by Randall Arney.
