Seven-time Emmy Award nominee Julia Duffy, along with Nick Cernoch and Megan Goodchild, will star in the Furious Theatre Company's production of Peter Sinn Nachtrieb's boom, to run May 19 - June 20 at the Carrie Hamilton Theatre. Damasco Rodriguez will direct.
In the play, as an undiscovered comet hurtles towards earth, one lone scientist takes it upon himself to preserve the human race -- except the woman he has taken captive refuses to procreate, and the shelter he has built is damaged beyond repair.
Duffy is perhaps best known from her work on television's Newhart and Designing Women. Among her stage credits are Once in a Lifetime opposite John Lithgow and Treat Williams on Broadway and last year's revival of Lillian Hellman's The Little Foxes at the Pasadena Playhouse.
The creative team will include Kurt Boetcher (scenic design), Christie Wright (lighting design), Doug Newell (sound design), and Leah Piehl (costume design).
