Leap of Faith, Next to Normal, God of Carnage, et al. Set for Ahmanson’s 2010-2011 Season

The Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles has announced the productions that will comprise its 2010-2011 season.

The season
will open the world premiere of the new musical Leap of Faith, to run September 5-October 17. Based on the movie of the same name, about a part-time reverend and full-time con-artist, the show features music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Glenn Slater, and a book written by Janus Cercone with Slater. Tony Award winner Rob Ashford will direct and choreograph the piece. Casting for the production will be announced shortly.

Also on the Ahmanson schedule is the national tour of Next to Normal(November 23-January 2), the West Coast premiere of Yasmina Reza’s God of Carnage (April 17-May 29), and the 25th anniversary tour of Les Miserables (June 14-July 31).

In addition, the theater will offer its season ticket holders the chance to book priority seating for a new permanent production from Cirque du Soleil, which will be presented at the company’s new home at the Kodak Theatre in the summer of 2011.
