Bill Cunliffe, Christian Perry, et al. Set for Music Series at Pasadena Playhouse

Pasadena Playhouse has announced a series of musical events, including a limited engagement of the musical revue Ovations, to run June 4-6. Benita Scheckel will direct the production, which will be choreographed byDancing With the Stars‘ Christian Perry and feature songs and scenes that have been written by the students of the Blair IB School as well as Broadway standards and such popular hits as Michael Jackson’s “Beat It.”

In addition, the Pasadena Jazz Institute will present Jazz at the Playhouse (May 28-30), offering three concerts including one dedicated to music from classic spy films and an evening dedicated to the music of George Gershwin, featuring Grammy Award winner Bill Cunliffe. The Lyric Opera of Los Angeles will also perform at the Pasadena Playhouse. From June 11-19, the company will present the U.S. premiere of Wagner’s Die Feen (The Fairies).
