Full Cast and Creative Team Set for CTG’s Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo

Full cast and creative team have been announced for the world premiere of Rajiv Joseph’s Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo, to be presented by Center Theatre Group at the Kirk Douglas Theatre, May 10-June 7. The production, which opens officially on May17, will be directed by Moisés Kaufman.

The play is set against the backdrop of the war in Iraq, in which the lives and, in some cases, the afterlives of two American soldiers, an Iraqi translator, the ghost of Saddam Hussein’s son Uday, and a Bengal tiger all intersect in a surreal, darkly humorous and gently balanced view of war and its aftermath.Joseph’s other plays include Animals Out of Paper, All This Intimacy, The Leopard and the Fox, and Huck & Holden.

The cast will feature Glenn Davis, Brad Fleischer, Arian Moayed, Kevin Tighe, Hrach Titizian, Sheila Vand, and Necar Zadegan.

The set design is by Derek McLane, costume design is by David Zinn, lighting design is by David Lander, sound design is by Cricket S. Myers, and Peter Golub serves as composer. Kaufman is currrently represented on Broadway as author and director of 33 Variations and directed the Broadway and Off-Broadway productions of I Am My Own Wife.
