Full Cast, Creative Team Set for 1001 at Boston Court

By Tristan Fuge • Apr 17, 2008 • Los Angeles
The full cast and creative team have been announced for the West Coast premiere of Jason Grote's 1001 at The Theatre @ Boston Court, May 1-June 8. Directed by Michael Michetti, the production will have a May 10 opening.

1001, Grote's modern twist on the ancient Tales of the Thousand and One Nights, opens on Alan wandering through a deserted New York City subway tunnel in a hallucinogenic daze only to emerge from the dark to encounter a one-eyed Middle-Eastern merchant in ancient Baghdad. It is a retelling of the classic collection of tales on love, sex, religion, and war.

The cast will feature Monika Jolly and John Sloan and the supporting cast will include Perry Lambert, Meena Serendib, Amol Shah, and Sam Younis. The creative team will include John Ballinger (sound design/original music), E.B. Brooks (costume design), Michetti (set design), Jeremy Pivnick (lighting design), John Pennington (choreography).
