"How would you communicate to the world who you are in a single quote? What words would you choose?" were the questions Kate Winslet posed to 100 A-list celebrities for her upcoming book, The Golden Hat: Talking Back to Autism, which is due out on Tuesday, March 27. All proceeds will go to Winslet's non-profit Golden Hat Foundation, which aims to eliminate communication barriers for people with autism.
Whether through crashing parties, sending emails, or leaving pleading phone messages, the Oscar-winning actress convinced dozens of celebrities to take part in the project. She literally passed her hat on them -- a well-worn Trilby fedora -- with self-portrait instructions to "put the hat on your head and think about how much we take communication for granted."
Here, TheaterMania provides you with an exclusive first look at some of the images in Winslet's remarkable book, with shots from stage veterans Kim Cattrall, George Clooney, Daniel Craig, Jude Law, Julianne Moore, Cynthia Nixon, and Meryl Streep.
