Andrea Martin, Keri Russell, Julia Stiles Among Stage Stars Cast in TV Pilots

A number of stage actors have been added to this season’s group of television pilots, according to published reports.


Stage veteran Mary Birdsong will join television legend Roseanne Barr in her new pilot, Downwardly Mobile.


Tony Award winner Norbert Leo Butz has been cast alongside stage and television star Jason Ritter in Jason Katims’ NBC drama pilot County, which focuses on the lives of young doctors, nurses, and administrators in a Los Angeles hospital.

Tony Award nominee Jeff Goldblum will guest star in the pilot of Susan 313, playing series star Sarah Silverman’s ex-boyfriend. Goldblum will join the cast of Broadway’s Seminar on April 3.


Stage veteran Mamie Gummer has been cast in the new CW’s medical drama, The First Cut.

Julia Stiles and David Harbour will co-star in NBC’s Midnight Sun, about a female FBI agent investigating a cult.
