Hal Holbrook to Receive Actors Fund’s Julie Harris Award for Lifetime Achievement

Hal Holbrook will receive the Actors Fund’s Julie Harris Award for Lifetime Achievement at the organization’s annual Tony Award party to be held on June 12 at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles, according to a report in Variety. Marc Cherry and David Rambo are scripting the event, which will raise money for the Actors Fund’s work and will, in addition to the award presentation, include a live telecast of the Tony ceremony.

Holbrook won the Tony for the solo show Mark Twain Tonight, with which he continues to tour. His many other Broadway credits include An American Daughter, Does a Tiger Wear a Necktie?, I Never Sang for My Father, and The Apple Tree.

He was nominated for an Oscar for his role in Into the Wild. In addition, Holbrook is a five-time Emmy Award winner; his many television credits include Lincoln, Evening Shade, Designing Women, and Sons of Anarchy.
