Frances Conroy, Cybill Shepherd and B.D. Wong have both been cast in forthcoming pilots, according to published reports.

Conroy, a Tony Award nominee for The Ride Down Mt. Morgan, will co-star in ABC’s comedy pilot Bad Mom. The project centers on a woman (Jenna Elfman), whose two kids have been raised largely by her own mother (Conroy), but when the older woman decides she wants her own life back, her daughter finds herself raising the kids herself.

BD Wong, who won a Tony Award for M Butterfly, will star in NBC’s REM. The show will center on a detective who wakes up after an accident to find he is living in two different realities, one in which he has killed his son Rex and one in which he has killed his wife Hannah. Wong will play the man’s therapist in the reality where he has killed his son. The show will also star Laura Allen, Steve Harris, Jason Isaacs, Dylan Minnette, and Wilmer Valderrama.

Shepherd, who will be starring in Hello, Dolly! at the North Carolina Theatre in May, has joined the cast of ABC’s comedy pilot My Freakin’ Family, which looks at what happens when a young couple, newly parents, finds their own parents, who come from very different backgrounds, descending on them. As previously reported, Mo Gaffney will play the wife’s mother. The series will star Ellen Woglom and Ravi Patel.
