Stephen Collins will join the previously announced Kate Burton when she reprises her Tony-nominated performance as the title character in L.A. Theatre Works’ production of W. Somerset Maugham’s The Constant Wife, to be presented as part of their “The Play’s The Thing” radio series at the Skirball Cultural Center, April 14-18. Jeanie Hackett will direct the performances.

Maugham’s play centers on a woman who, much to the shock of her friends, manages to keep a cool head as she hears their hints about her husband’s extramarital affairs. The company will also feature Christina Pickles, Kirsten Potter and Mark Capri, as well as the previously reported John de Lancie and Rosalind Ayres.

The series will continue with Side Man by Warren Leight, starring Edie Falco and Frank Wood (May 12-16); She Stoops to Conquer by Oliver Goldsmith, starring James Marsters and Roy Dotrice (June 16-20); and Doctor Cerberus by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, starring Adam Arkin and JoBeth Williams (July 14-18).
