Stacy Keach Suffers Mild Stroke

Actor Stacy Keach, who is appearing as former U.S. President Richard M. Nixon in the national tour of Frost/Nixon, has been diagnosed as having experienced a very mild stroke with no impairment whatsoever of his motor or speech abilities, according to a spokesperson for the Center Theater Group. Keach was admitted last night to a Los Angeles hospital, and is still being held for observation and routine precautionary procedures.

Keach received a Tony Award nomination for Indians and last appeared on Broadway in The Kentucky Cycle. He is the winner of four Drama Desk and three Obie Awards for his New York stage work, which also includes Hamlet, Long Day’s Journey Into Night, and MacBird, and recently appeared in the Goodman Theatre’s production of King Lear.
