Laurie Metcalf and French Stewart will star in the world premiere of Justin Tanner’s new comedy, Voice Lessons, to play the Zephyr Theatre, April 10-May 17.

The play is about the unlikely romance between a deluded community theater actress and the overeducated vocal coach she hires to make her a star. The cast will also include Maile Flanagan.

Metcalf received a Tony nomination for her performance in November. She previously appeared on Broadway in My Thing of Love and won Drama Desk and Theatre World Awards for the 1985 Off-Broadway production of Balm in Gilead. She is best known for her Emmy Award-winning role as Jackie on the sitcom Roseanne.

Stewart is best known for his role as Harry Solomon on Third Rock from the Sun. He previously appeared in Tanner’s plays, Pot Mom, Party Mix and Happy Times Xmas.
