Jeff Arch, Leslie Bricusse, Ian Fraser, Joel Zwick at Work on Sleepless in Seattle Musical

The principal creative team for a musical adaptation of the popular film Sleepless in Seattle will include book writer Jeff Arch (who penned the film’s original story and co-wrote the screenplay), composer/lyricist Leslie Bricusse, orchestrator/arranger Ian Fraser, and director Joel Zwick.

Based on the TriStar motion picture, and produced by David Shor, Sleepless in Seattle — The Musical is currently in development, plans to present a first reading in May, and aims toward an official opening in early 2010.

Arch’s work on the screenplay for Sleepless in Seattle earned him Oscar, Golden Globe, Writers Guild, and BAFTA nominations. Bricusse is a double Oscar and Grammy winner who has written more than forty musical shows and films, including the musicals Stop The World, I Want to Get Off, The Roar of the Greasepaint, the Smell of the Crowd, and Victor/Victoria. Fraser received his 29th Emmy nomination last year, winning eleven trophies throughout his career along with myriad other honors. Zwick is best known for directing the film, My Big Fat Greek Wedding.
