Lily Tomlin to Join Reba McEntire on ABC’s Malibu Country Pilot

Lily Tomlin will join the previously announced Reba McEntire in ABC’s half-hour pilot Malibu Country, according to a report on Deadline.com.
The show centers on a woman (McEntire) who divorces her cheating rock star husband and moves her family from Nashville to Malibu, where she attempts to reignite her own singing career. Tomlin will play the character’s classically Southern mother.
The actress received a special Tony in 1977 for her solo show Appearing Nitely and the 1986 Best Actress Tony for The Search for Signs of Intelligent Life in the Universe, which she wrote with longtime partner Jane Wagner. Her many film and television credits include Nine to Five, Nashville, The West Wing, Desperate Housewives, Will & Grace, Murphy Brown, and Rowan and Martin’s Laugh-In.
