John Hurt, Octavia Spencer Set for Snow Piercer Film

Stage and screen stars John Hurt and Octavia Spencer will co-star with Oscar winner Tilda Swinton, Chris Evans, and Kang Ho Song in Bong-Joon Ho’s film Snow Piercer, according to The Hollywood Reporter.


The film is set in a futuristic society where everyone is dead except for the inhabitants of the Snow Piercer, a train that travels around the globe and is powered by a sacred perpetual-motion engine.


Hurt’s many stage credits include The Importance of Being Earnest, The Caretaker, The Seagull, and Krapp’s Last Tape. He is best known for his film work, including starring in the film version of The Elephant Man.


Spencer has worked frequently on stage in Los Angeles. She has won the SAG and Golden Globe Awards for her performance in The Help and has been nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.
