Elephant Theatre Company to Take Year-Long Hiatus

Elephant Theatre Company has announced that it will go on hiatus for the year of 2012, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The company has cited financial difficulties as the reason for the hiatus and will undergo a structural reorganization before reopening, including hiring a managing director who will oversee fundraising and grant applications and restructuring of the board of directors.

Elephant Theatre Company was created in 1995 by graduates from the California State Long Beach Theatre Arts Program. Their goal is to offer offer a satisfying theatrical experience by cultivating original works, encouraging risk, and bringing contemporary published works to life.
