Drama Desk Award nominee Colin Donnell has been cast in the CW drama pilot Arrow, according to Deadline.com.

The series is described by the site as a modern retelling of the story of DC Comics character Green Arrow, who fights crime using archery, martial arts, and technology under his secret identity as Oliver Queen, a wealthy playboy and politician in Star City. The series will also star Stephen Arnell, Katie Cassidy, and Susanna Thompson.

Donnell received a Drama Desk nomination for his work as Billy Crocker in the current Broadway revival of Anything Goes and just completed a run as Franklin Shepard in the City Center Encores! revival of Merrily We Roll Along. He appeared this season on ABC's Pan Am.
